My Hope
My hope for children and families who come from diverse backgrounds is that they feel respected, accepted, and valued especially when they enter their early childhood program.
"At bottom every man knows well enough that he is a unique being only once on this earth; and by no extraordinary chance will such a marvelously picturesque piece of diversity in unity as he is, ever be put together a second time."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
My Goal
My goal for the early childhood field is that all EC professionals are trained in anti-bias education and that they pass this knowledge on to the children, families, and other staff.
"If we cannot end now our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity."
-John F. Kennedy
"It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength."
-Maya Angelou
My Thanks
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."

ReplyDeleteKrista,
ReplyDeleteWe really need to get the word out to society. If everyone comes to grips with their inner being, soul searching, and do a cleansing from the inside out, we can make this place better for all children and their families.
Enjoy your journey to your goals. Have fun as you continue to get closer to the finish line.
Sandra
Krista,
ReplyDeleteThe more we become educated through our studies at Walden University, and there after, the better advocates for diversity we will become. The more people that understand and practice diversity, equity, and social justice, the closer we will become to your hope of children and families being accepted, respected, and valued.
Thanks for all the insights you brought to this course. Good luck with your children and families that you teach.
Amanda
Hi Krista,
ReplyDeleteWe share a common goal for educators to receive training in anti-bias education. I feel this is necessary in order to provide children and families with the respect and support they deserve. Thanks for adding the quotes and Good Luck in your future courses!!!!
Hi Krista, I think you goal to education professionals on anti- bias is a great way to make an impact on the profession. Professionals will be able to have the awareness of diversity and understand the benefits of diversity in the early childhood profession. I wish you luck on your journey!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Andrea
